Private Banks, Investment Shops Adjust Minimums

Private banks and investment firms have led the pack readjusting client investment minimums in the shaky conditions of the last twelve months, according to an exclusive study of best practices by Prince & Associates. On a whole investment minimums tended to decrease as lower-tier firms struggled to maintain inflows, although family offices maintained high thresholds. Roughly 20% of private banks and 27% of investment firms have readjusted minimums, compared with only 9.7% of multi-family offices and 4.2% of brokerage firms.
